Product Description Praise for persuasion the art of getting what you want "Dave has exposed the secrets of the most powerful persuaders in the world. This book is a step-by-step guide to changing minds and deeply influencing people in person, in print, on the air, or anyplace else you need to persuade. This book makes persuasion so easy and predictable that it may be the most dangerous persuasion book ever written . . . especially if it ends up in the hands of your competition." ?Mike Litman, CEO, Connect To Success, Inc. and coauthor of Conversations with Millionaires "Dave Lakhani tells you everything you've just got to know about persuasion in this book. It is written provocatively, yet clearly. And it is sure to open your mind while enriching your bank account. I highly recommend it. Fasten your seatbelt when you read it. It takes you on a thrilling ride!" ?Jay Conrad Levinson, "The Father of Guerrilla Marketing" and author of the Guerrilla Marketing series of books "Dave Lakhani understands persuasion like few do and is able to break the process down so anyone can understand and use it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who hopes to improve their ability to sell, market, advertise, or negotiate." ?Chet Holmes, Fortune 500 superstrategist and author of the Mega Marketing, Business Growth Masters, and Guerrilla Marketing Meets Karate Master sales programs "Man, talk about persuasive. Dave convinced me to read and review his book, and I don't even like the guy." ?Blaine Parker, author of Million-Dollar Mortgage Radio "Too few books actually put into practice what they promote. Dave Lakhani breaks the mold with this satisfying, powerful read." ?John Klymshyn, author of Move the Sale Forward

Deeply disappointed December 12, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
In the preface of the book Mr. Lakhani writes, "Leave me penniless and naked in any town in America and by the end of the day I'll have clothes, food, lodging, a way of earning an income, a following, and enough money in my pocket to start again..." I believe that to be true. This is a brilliant opening to the book. It gets one excited because they are going to learn techniques to be able to do this too! But it never happens. I'm a salesman and I thought this was going to be the answer to my prayers. It wasn't. I can honestly say, there is not one useful piece of information in this book with the exception of the links he provides for voice coaching and image consultants. Then, to add insult to injury, one is informed of free admittance to a live event. Those events do not occur nor is there any type of worthy substitution offered. I think it is only reasonable to expect more from such a brilliant mind.
Useful guide to persuading customers and audiences December 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Persuasion is a well-covered topic in the business press, but author Dave Lakhani comes at it from a different perspective. His mother was part of a strict religious cult and until he was 16, Lakhani also was a member. He left voluntarily and decided to find out what persuasive techniques had drawn his mother into the group, and what eventually allowed her - albeit reluctantly - to leave its grip. Lakhani approaches persuasion from the perspective of cultists and serial manipulators, and acknowledges its potential misuse. He presents fresh insights and recommendations for its more ethical applications. getAbstract finds this book convincing, tightly written and packed with valuable techniques.
Excellent Book November 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are looking to become more of an influential person, then this book is perfect for you. This is by far one of the best books I have read on persuasion (and I have read quite a few). If I were you I would buy this book right now. Also another quality book on persuasion is "The Art Of Woo." Get this one as well and then review both often, take notes, and underline the good stuff. This will ultimately allow you to achieve your goal of becoming more persuasive, which we all know is vital if you desire success in life.
Persuasion, the art of getting what you want. November 18, 2008 Thus far it is a fairly good book. I am into the third chapter now, and I can say there are quite a few thoughts in the book which turn a light on. good read id say. i look foward to finishing it up.
Excellent learning tool! September 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am actually reviewing the audiobook from audible.com, but I enjoyed this book so much that I am going to be ordering the physical book for quick reference purposes. Dave Lakhani really has a wealth of information and understanding of how to help people improve their ability to persuade others effectively. This is currently the first book I recommend to others looking for a way to improve their persuasion and selling skills and I expect it to remain my first recommendation for a long time.
