4 out of 5 stars Great PR and marketing advice, ideal for right-brained entrepreneurs   December 19, 2008
I've read many great books about networking, PR and marketing.

The problem is, they're written for people who might have excelled in an MBA program. Those of us who function in very right-brained, intuitive ways... we get excited by those books, and run out of steam almost as soon as we reach the last page.

I need books that present solid networking and marketing ideas, but communicate in creative and original ways.

Sure, some of the information in this book probably appears elsewhere. To me, that doesn't matter. Information that's written for management experts... I can learn from it, but it doesn't spark me into action. Not sustained action, anyway.

The "Little Black Book of Connections" reminds me of things that are both "ah-HA" moments and common sense. As an artist, I just don't think in those ways without good cues.

Even better, this book is presented in a whimsical, intuitive manner. I can open the book to any page, and find an idea that inspires me to improve how I interact with clients, collectors and professionals I work with.

This book fills an important niche, and perhaps a large one: Those of us who need good business skills but fall asleep reading most business-related books.

I like this book and I keep it within easy reach of my desk. I review it regularly. It reminds me of things that I need to do to succeed in business (and in some non-business settings)... things that don't come naturally to an artist like me.
