4 out of 5 stars Good headset   September 26, 2008
I bought this headset back in 2005 when I got my first real MP game, Battlefield 2. It is now 2008, and these things are STILL being used with my games and they work great. The sound quality is good and the microphone is better. As far as sound cancellation, eh, but I put voice on the headset and actual game sounds on my Bose speakers. These fit my head well because I have a small head and they fit tight, nor do they constrict the ears or which make them perfect for me. My ears get irritated and hot when wearing headphones that clasp or sit on my ears so these are great, they sit a good 1/2 inch from my ears. I can see why these can be uncomfortable though since they don't adjust and are a tight fit.

Summary: these are good for young gamers with small heads.

1 out of 5 stars Simply useless if you can't wear it   August 17, 2008
I was shocked to find that Logitech, a name I normally trust for peripherals, had created something as sloppily-designed as this headset.

First, the fit was just plain atrocious. It was insanely uncomfortable, yet felt ready to fall off at any time. The other reviewer who said this was right on. (And yes, I had them on the right way!...)

The sound was passable, but nothing near what I expected with the "Gaming Headset" moniker attached liberally to the packaging.

Sadly, the only decent thing about it was how easy the return process was. Avoid at all costs if you wear glasses, and try to stay away even if you don't. Your ears will thank you.

1 out of 5 stars You know you failed if your product needs duct tape right out of the box   July 26, 2008
I received this gaming headset for free by attending a course, and when I got it I was amused at the concept of a gaming headset. It took me 5-7 minutes to get out of the packaging, and then you have to adjust the mic. Unfortunately, after you adjust the mic, you have to put on the logitech label to secure it. I couldn't get it on, so I had to use duct tape.
Once I put it on, it felt flimsy and uncomfortable, like it was constantly about to fall off. I reached for the mic to try and adjust it and the mic BROKE OFF. I threw the thing in the trash, it's totally worthless. I didn't even pay for it and I still feel ripped off. Dont buy this piece of junk.

1 out of 5 stars Save your money   May 13, 2008
I've noticed a consistant trend with Logitech products. If you buy their cheap/low end goods, you wind up with a pretty horrible product, whereas if you spend more money on one of their more expensive products, you usually get something great.
These headphones are definitely on their low end of things, and they fail to deliver. The 25$ you'll spend on these is 25$ too much. You will find you have wasted both money AND time ordering, waiting, and ultimately returning these.
Here are the ups and downs:
Pros: Almost none. The sound isn't completely horrible with these, but mind you, it's only passable. The cord is nice and long, and the remote built in to the cord is handy.
Cons: Horrible fit. These have a really poor ergonomic design, and I can't imagine them being comfortable for anyone. They feel as though they are constantly slipping off, and they provide poor ear coverage. There is nothing immersive about the sound or feel with these. The poor fit introduces pressure points on the ears and skull which quickly turn painful.
Normally, these comfort issues would prove problematic, except these headphones won't work long enough for you to worry about it. The microphone, I believe, has a manufacturing flaw which prevents a solid connection, rendering a staticy, unusable signal. The fact that the microphone is broken fresh out of the box is problematic. I experienced this on 2 different units. Occasionally it will work, only to quit working on a whim. I spent several hours tweaking system settings, only to realize and accept that the headphones were the sole problem, and that it was a manufacturing flaw.
In summation, these headphones are horribly uncomfortable and will most likely be broken within the first day (usually, straight out of the box). They are NOT worth 30, 20, or even 5$, as they don't work. Spend your money on a better pair. I'm sure Logitech makes some nice higher end headphones, but these are NOT worth your time or money.

3 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons   April 18, 2008
These headphones are difficult to explain, especially when I hear a lot of complaints about them. It really depends on who you buy them from, perhaps.

Pros: The sound quality is great, the headset/microphone quality is smooth and my friends on Ventrilo can hear a big difference (better). Perhaps it's not as good as the top-of-the-line headphones, but for the price, it's absolutely worth it (I got mine refurbished). The headphones themselves are fairly comfortable for a while and they fit most ears. Your ears may feel a bit warm after wearing them for hours.

Cons: Okay, so I've had these headphones for some months now and they worked perfectly. Just recently, they started to break apart. Yes, break apart. The foam padding fell apart, followed by the microphone side, revealing all of the cords. I have to pop them back into place on a daily basis which takes about 5-10 minutes because it's very frustrating and complicated.

Overall, I suggest this item if you're a fairly active gamer, but they might disappoint some people.
