Decent Product For a Specific purpose November 23, 2008 First, let me clarify something: These are NOT "music" headphones. If you're looking for something to ENJOY WMA & MP3 music... do yourself a favor & spend some real money on a real pair of phones DESIGNED FOR THAT PURPOSE. These will "do the job" if your only interest is hearing & not quality listening.
Having said that, I bought these specifically for language learning & voice recognition recording. They've worked great so far. They're sturdier than most of the other models I researched & for the money, they a solid investment.
Very faint microphone November 18, 2008 When VOIP (Voice Over IP) phones were required for my work I immediately purchased this headset based on the reviews and since it was "recommended" by my work. However after a month of using the headset I noticed a few things:
- the length of the mic boom from the headset to my mouth seems too short - the mic does not pickup the audio very well. I have to move the mic touching my mouth.
When I put the microphone in front of my mouth it still is very faint in picking up my voice. It appears the only way it can pickup audio is if I literally place the mic against my lip. The audio is then heard but my voice comes across like I'm an airline pilot picking up my breaths inbetween sentences.
However on a positive note it is a very universal USB in that it works on my Mac, PC, and Linux machines. The earpiece volume control works very well along with the inline mute button.
But unfortunately the most important part, the microphone is too faint for good use.
I've since invested in a wireless Platronics CS60-USB headset. The cost is significantly more but it has been well worth it.
headset USB - NOT for Rosetta Stone! September 18, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Product works normally, but fails to work with the Rosetta stone language software. I found this product on Amazon while looking at a similar product on Rosetta Stone's website. Since it was cheaper on Amazon I bought it there. Caveat Emptor....
This is a good product! August 12, 2008 The company was very good about getting the headset out in a timely maner. I am very please by how well it works.
Nice headset June 6, 2008 We bought these to go with a language program. They're comfortable to use and the microphone picks up well. I would recommend these if you need a headset with microphone.
