Logitech Quickcam Deluxe for Notebooks - great August 10, 2008 For a simpleton like me, this camera is easy to use. Doesn't have a lot of different functions, which I like. It has a few cool effects you can do to your pictures. But it's basically plug and go. The only thing is that the clip is a little too small for my notebook, but it works if I don't touch it too much.
Poor Skype Cam August 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this webcam mostly with Skype and I am always disappointed in the picture quality. I've tried changing the room lighting and played with the camera's setting without much luck. If you are looking for a webcam to use with Skype, keep looking as this is not it.
Great item for the price! July 31, 2008 I got the Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks when I got pressured by my parents to get a webcam so that they could see their grandkids via Skype. They have a Philips desktop webcam that costs $100, and although it works, I didn't think it was worth the price. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I decided on this camera. Of course the price I paid for this item definitely helped. I paid $39.99 for this webcam on Amazon, but at the time, Logitech was offering a $30 rebate for this camera. Because I technically paid $39.99 for this item, I got the free Super Saver Shipping, and about 6 weeks later, I got my $30 check from Logitech. Setup for this camera was effortless even though I am not really tech-savvy, and I didn't even wait for my husband to get home to do this for me. For $10, this is a STEAL. For $40, it is a good solid camera for the purposes of using Skype. It attaches easily to the top of my laptop and the picture quality of this camera is really good. I have only had it freeze on me once or twice in the past 4 months or so that I've had this. When that happened, I just ended the Skype call, and called back and the problem was fixed -- who knows, those 2 instances could have been a Skype-related issue and not one pertaining to the camera itself. This is one of the best deals that I have bought through Amazon.
Excellent choice July 29, 2008 This is an excellent, compact camera with great resolution. I highly recommend it. I have used many webcams, including several Logitechs. This cameras portability, built in microphone, and mounting clip make it a great choice for any notebook/laptop user on the go.
Excellent webcam July 24, 2008 Bought it for $36, about $20 below suggested retail price...Downloaded it to my laptop and the download took about 5 minutes with the disk that came with the webcam...The quality of the camera is very good, if not excellent, and the free Skype download and software works extremely well, with numerous options to customize how you use the webcam on your computer...All in all,a remarkable webcam for the price..I have a friend who paid more than twice as much for a high-end webcam, which she tells me is not as good as mine in terms of picture quality....Go get yourself one of these, and see how far webcam technology has advanced!!!
